Administrative Procedure 417: RECOGNITION OF EMPLOYEE SERVICE
Background
The Division recognizes long-term employment service and the service of retiring employees.
Procedures
- Types of employment that will be recognized shall include:
- Long-term employment.
- Retiring employees.
- The Division shall arrange for an opportunity to honour its employees as follows:
- Division Office based personnel
- At a regular or specially-called Board meeting.
- School-based personnel
- Teachers – in conjunction with the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA)
- Support staff – at a school staff function and/or a Division lunch.
- Division Office based personnel
- Long term service awards shall be in the form of Division pins inscribed with years of service recognized by the Division and shall be awarded for five (5) years of service and every five (5) years thereafter, i.e. 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 etc.
- Retiring employees shall receive an appropriate gift from the Board if they meet the eligibility requirements:
- Served in Division at least fifteen (15) full years.
- Be at least fifty-five (55) years of age.
