Mr. Curtis Leishman - Mountain View School
Goal: To continue to build the steer program by purchasing various supplements as well as feed for the school steers.
Description: The grant money helped supply feed and supplements to the 3 steers at the school as well as provide opportunities to go on field trips within the livestock industry. This program is led by a committee of students that all take turns with the weekly chores. They are in charge of feeding the proper rations, cleaning the pen, general animal care, and figuring out the weight gains of the steers. The animals are auctioned off at the end of the school year with some of the beef coming back to the school for their lunch program. The grant money helped the students have great success this year.
