New to Westwind?

New student registration is for students attending Westwind schools for the first time in the Fall of 2025.

Register online using the steps and the digital new student registration form linked below. These applications must be completed as accurately as possible, and legal proof of your child's name and age, proof of address, and any other legal documentation (custody orders, etc.) must accompany registration.  

PLEASE NOTE

If your student is currently enrolled in Westwind School Division, a "Returning Student Registration" needs to be completed. 

STEP 1: GET ORGANIZED & PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS

You will need to provide documents confirming the following:

  • the address for the student's parent/guardian

legal proof of the student's name, citizenship status and birthdate

Examples of acceptable documentation to support age and citizenship. 

 Documents can be uploaded electronically. Once the form is submitted, any additional documentation must be provided to the school directly by email or in person. 

STEP 2: CREATE AN ACCOUNT

Go to the New Student Registration Form 2025-2026

  • Please note that you may have previously created an account for a past year or student. If you receive an error indicating that an account already exists, please contact the Registration Office for assistance in resetting your password.

STEP 3: REVIEW AND COMPLETE THE DIGITAL STUDENT REGISTRATION FORM

Once an account is created, start a new form by selecting the applicable "New Student Registration Form" on the dashboard. Make your form selection carefully to ensure you are applying in the correct school year.

Please enter your child's name and birth date to add them as a student and start the registration process.

  • TIP: You can continue a form in progress at any time. 

STEP 4: SUBMIT THE FORM

Once the registration form is complete and submitted, a confirmation notice is sent to the given email address. Please contact the school to let them know of your intention to register and to confirm they received your submission.

NOTE: The registration isn't complete until all required documents are uploaded or delivered to the school. If you have difficulty uploading or need time to gather the required documents, complete the form, then provide the school with the necessary documents.

Each year, parents of students returning to Westwind schools must verify their children's enrollment in the online registration system using the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

If you have a Westwind PowerSchool Parent Portal account you can use that to access the Returning Students Enrollment/Registration(s) for your Student for the 2025-2026 school year. 

  1. Select the student you wish to register along the top 
  2. Select the "2025-2026 Returning Student Enrollment Verification" Icon on the bottom left hand side.
  3. Agree to the terms and conditions 
  4. Click Begin Forms

If you do NOT have a parent portal account or are unable to access your account, please contact your school office or registrations@westwind.ab.ca

New student registration must be filled out for first-year preschool and kindergarten students who have not been registered at a Westwind school in the past.

To be eligible to attend kindergarten in the 2025-2026 school year, your child must turn five years old on or before Dec. 31 of the current school year.
