EPISODE 28: Ryan Wynder; Building Resilience and Personal Competence
In this episode, we welcome Westwind alumni Ryan Wynder to the podcast. Ryan is a licensed marriage and family therapist who manages private practices in Las Vegas, Nevada and Meridan, Idaho. Ryan and Austin discuss the impact COVID-19 has had on both adults and youth and how parents can help their children build resilience and personal competence during uncertain times, overcome self-doubt, and maintain good mental health and well-being despite challenging times.
About our Guest
Ryan was born and raised In HillSpring and Cardston and graduated from Cardston High School in 1993. He attended the University of Lethbridge and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2001 before attending Graduate School at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), where he obtained my Masters's Degree in Counseling/Marriage and Family Therapy in 2003.
Ryan worked in a few agencies before starting his private practice in 2005. Ryan and his wife Sonia, and three children: Jaxon (21), Maddux (18), and Jurnee (15), lived in Las Vegas until his family recently moved to Meridian, ID. Despite the relocation, Ryan has maintained his practice in Las Vegas through telehealth while also building a practice in his new hometown of Meridian.
