Westwind School Division Hosts Off Campus Education Information Night for Parents

Westwind School Division invites parents to attend an Off Campus Education Information Night designed to help students earn high school credits while gaining real-world experience. These sessions will cover a range of exciting programs that offer unique learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Parents will learn about the Work Experience program, which allows students to earn credits through part-time jobs or volunteer work, and the Green Certificate program, which provides hands-on training in agricultural careers. The Registered Apprentice Program (RAP) gives students a head start on apprenticeship hours while still in high school, and the Dual Credit program allows students to earn both high school and post-secondary credits, with a particular focus on trades courses. Additionally, the CAREERS program supports students in finding jobs, and the Youth Intern Incentive Program (YIIP) provides employers with government funding to help pay student wages.

The meetings will take place at 7:00 PM in three locations:

  • Magrath: October 21 (High School Theatre)
  • Raymond: October 24 (Fishbowl Room)
  • Cardston: October 28 (High School Staff Room)
