We are pleased to announce that Kerry Taylor has been selected to be a second Vice Principal at Raymond Elementary School starting in the 2017-2018 school year.
Kerry Taylor completed her combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Lethbridge in 1998, majoring in English Language Arts. She is in the process of completing a Masters of Education degree with the University of Calgary, specializing in language and literacy. Kerry has worked at Magrath Elementary School from 1998 to 2015 as a teacher, an early literacy and reading intervention teacher, and a special education facilitating teacher. For nine years between 2006 and 2015 she was a Vice Principal at Magrath Elementary School. In 2015 she came to Raymond Elementary School as a learning support teacher and learning coach. Her focuses have been in mentoring new teachers, developing programming support for teachers, implementing programming for moderately and severely disabled students, and coordinating joint literacy professional development projects throughout Westwind School Division with Dr. Robin Bright as a member of the division’s Literacy Committee.
The decision to return to having two Vice Principals at Raymond Elementary School was made to meet identified needs of students as well as the need for instructional leadership in the school. The decision to return to having two Vice Principals is not an increase in the number of teachers at the school.
Over her career Kerry has significantly contributed to the culture of educational excellence in Magrath Elementary School, Raymond Elementary School, and in Westwind School Division. We are excited to welcome Kerry into her new administrative role in Raymond Elementary School.
